A retired US basketball professional, Rex Chapman shared a video of a deaf dad while communicating with his little princess in sign language along with a caption that read, “This hearing-impaired father expressing love to his newborn daughter in sign-language is the definitely Twitter content I’m here for.” The clip immediately went viral and left many teary eyed.

I remember that the consensus ~1980 was that newborns couldn't focus on anything for a few weeks or months or whatever. But I know what I saw when my daughter was 3 days old, giving me the side-eye. i have a lot of deaf friends. before they can speak, deaf/hearing babies can communicate with parents up to a year earlier when they use sign language with them.
