Imagine waking up in the middle of the day and seeing the black sky covered in a thick layer of black smoke with no sun rays. This may sound bad but that is something the residents of Sao Paulo, Brazil experienced.
Recently Brazil’s most populous city suddenly got covered in darkness as thick black clouds from the raging Amazon forest fires gradually crept over the busy metropolis.

Meteorologist Folha De S. Paulo said the darkening was caused by a cold front from the east of São Paulo meeting with the fine dust brought in from the fires in Mato Grosso do Sul.
Residents reported the dark clouds since around 3 PM which lasted for over one hour.
