Couple Behind the Bars in Iran for Proposing in Public

Have you ever seen anyone getting arrested for proposing his partner in public? Though it is a beautiful gesture to showcase your feeling towards the person you love but not every country has the same outlook towards it.
Recently a young Iranian couple got under arrest after their video while proposing for marriage went viral on social media.
As per the police the duo has offended Islamic tradition in front of the public but was later released on bail. In the clip the man is standing in a heart-shaped ring of flower petals in a mall in the central Iranian city of Arak.
Deputy police Chief Mostafa Norouzi, in Arak gave a statement in this matter that “it is unacceptable for the young “to do whatever is common in other places of the world and disregard mores, culture and religion” in Iran.
Many people called the public proposal “shameful” and claimed it could promote, “immorality.” The agency has demanded “harsh” punishment to make sure that no one else repeat such thing in public again.
