The name of the candy is based on the surname of its creator Forrest Mars and later co-owner Bruce Murrie.
They combined their surnames and used the initials to create the brand that we love today.
The story of M&M began in 1941 in the middle of Second World War, in New Jersey. Till 1945 the chocolate was only sold to military people.
