Barbie unveils 18 New Real-Women Inspo Avatars
Mar 09, 2018
As the International Women’s Day rolled in, Barbie releases an entire collection of dolls inspired by real-life role models this month. Barbie conducted a recent survey and after surveying 8,000 mothers, Barbie has found out that 86% of them are worried about what kind of role model their daughters will choose. So, the company decided to make 18 new dolls based on inspiring and famous women all around the world. Every doll in the collection comes with information that reveals how much each woman has shaped our society. These dolls are based on different role models from different period of time. Like: gold-winning Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, “Wonder Woman” filmmaker Patty Jenkins and boxing champion Nicola Adams.
“Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real-life role models to remind them that they can be anything,” senior vice president and general manager of Barbie, Lisa McKnight, said in a news release.
