Mar 19, 2019
Have you ever heard anyone’s life being saved because of a pair of jeans? Well, recently a German sailor, Arne Murke got stuck at sea. He was sailing with his brother off the coast of New Zealand when they experienced bad weather and rough water due to which their yacht could not get balanced and Murke fell off from it.
Though it was just impossible to get rescued from the state where Murke was but his the denim he was wearing turned into a flotation device for him.
Murke’s brother immediately sent out an emergency alert for his rescue but the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter Service was able to track him after 3 hours.
The Facebook page of the helicopter service shared a video of the rescue along with a caption.
Sea RescueImagine being stuck in the middle of the ocean for two hours without any idea if you will be saved with 2.5 metre swells pushing you from side to side? Well that is what our Rescue Crew attended yesterday. 20 nm off Tolaga Bay, a man had gone overboard from a yacht and through the quick response from our team and other rescue services, we were able to find him. He is so incredibly lucky to be alive.
