Corn Flakes
The two Kellogg brothers Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and Will Keith Kellogg were experimenting with the process of making dough from boiled wheat wherein, one of the Kelloggs left the mash to dry. As a result, it splintered into individual flakes which the brothers baked in the oven, and the flakes produced Granose (cereal) which gave us Corn Flakes
Potato Chips
The Potato Chips were invented by Chef George Crum in 1954. He accidentally invented chips as his customer complained that their French fries were too thick. So, he thinly sliced and fried them until they became brown. The customer loved them and became the first batch of chips.
Champagne
The fermentation process of the wine temporarily stopped in the winter months which resulted in excess carbon dioxide in the wine bottles later in the spring season. Thus, in 1668 Catholic Church brought Dom Pierre Perignon monk over to Champagne to solve this problem which made the wine fizzier.
Coca Cola
Dr John Stith Pemberton, the inventor of Coca Cola was the pharmacist who was looking to create an alcoholic drink filled with cocaine and caffeine for the people who were chemically addicted to drugs including himself. Thus, to wean off the addiction of morphine, accidentally his experiment hit and he forcibly took out the alcohol from his formula which resulted in Coca-Cola in 1886.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ruth Graves Wakefield invented cookies in 1930. She had to prepare some dessert for her guest but was out of baker’s chocolate. So, she chopped a block of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate with the hope that it would melt in the oven and spread on the batter. As a result, it accidentally became chocolate chips when the batter came out of the oven.
