Texas Weather Conspiracy Theory Goes Viral!

Feb 24, 2021

Texas has seen brutal weather conditions in the past couple of weeks and heavy snowfall has caused public transports to shut and lead to power outages as well. Since the snowstorm was heavy, many places suffered infrastructure damages. Some people are now raising questions and have accused the government of faking this emergency weather.

A woman made a Tik-Tok video in which she accused this weather storm to be a plot of shadowy elitists.

She proved her point by taking a snowball in her hand and trying to melt it off using tealight candle flame and sees the ice being charred instead of melting.

A science writer Phil Plait uncovered the theory behind this phenomenon in 2014. “As the snow melts, the remaining snow absorbs the water. That’s why it doesn’t appear to drip; the snowball becomes a slushball' he said.

He also added that snowball needs more time to melt and the charring marks are because of the lighter.

This theory received many remarks from people and many of them trolled the women who started the rumors in the first place.

Do you believe it?
