In a rare event, the ODI match of India and New Zealand was stopped because of the sun. During the first ODI between India and New Zealand in Napier, the setting sun was so shining that it was reflecting right into the eyes of the Indian batsmen making it difficult for them to see the ball. The game was paused till the condition was better for the game to resume.

While admitting that he has never seen such an occurrence in last 15-years South African umpire Shaun George, said that there is a provision for such a situation and the players were aware of it.
