Kerala Bakers Make World’s Largest Cake

A team of 15,000 bakers and chefs came together at Kerala’s cultural capital Thrissur to make the world’s longest cake- about 6.5 kilometers (four miles).

Spread with chocolate ganache, the four inches (10 centimeters) thick and wide vanilla cake was prepared in three rows along the Ramanilayam Road in Thrissur on Wednesday. Chefs from all over the state completed the cake in 4 hours. It weighed over 20 tonnes.
The Bakers Association of Kerala organized the baking event as a part of the Night Shopping Festival in Thrissur. They broke the previous record held by the Chinese Bakery Association in 2018. They had made a fruitcake almost 3.2 kilometers long.
