Do You Want to Try These “Invisible” Pies at Home
Jul 03, 2020
At first glance, this lemon tart by Japanese twitter user looks like a delicious dessert with a normal pie crust, except it had a dollop of whipped cream that appears to be floating in mid-air. You might be thinking about what type of sorcery this is and where the lemon flavor comes in.
Take a closer look at the pie and you will notice the “invisible” filling. The illusionary creation is a fitting choice for this clever baker—her name “tomei no hito” literally translates to “clear person.”

The bakery recently shared pictures of her homemade fruit pie online with the list of ingredients.
The transparent tart filling is made from a mixture of gelatin powder, white wine, sugar, honey, and lemon. It might not look like much at first, but once the light shines through a slice at an angle, it looks just like glass.
