According to reports, all around the world people are maintaining distance and avoiding direct contact with others to stay protected from the virus.
No handshakes, no hugs, no peck on the cheek, no sharing food – every possible habit of meeting and greeting has been stopped.
Here is how people are changing the way they greet each other in different countries:
• China
In Beijing, red hoardings have been placed to tell people not to shake hands but to join their own hands together in a sign of greeting.
• France
In France adoption of handshakes instead of kissing is a new trend. Newspapers are advising on how to replace kissing on the cheek with a handshake.
• The Brazilian government also says no to kiss
They advise not to share even a cheek kiss. Brazil’s health ministry has recommended that citizens to not share metal straws used to consume the caffeine
• Iran prefers foot shake now
In Iran, 66 people were killed by the virus. A video has gone viral where three friends are meeting each other with masks on and tapping their feet against each other as a greeting.
• Australia opts for a pat on the back
Aussies are giving each other a pat on the back for the time being instead of handshaking.
• UAE
Here people will be waving at each other, and won’t be kissing or shaking hands.
