Bengaluru Residents Share Pics of a “Sun Halo” in Sky

Recently Delhiites shared stunning pictures of trees and streets covered in Amaltas blossoms, everything in the city was covered in Yellow. Now the people of Bengaluru are witnessing “Sun Halo” : a circular ring around the sun that resembles a pale rainbow. It is said to be a predictor of the upcoming rainfall. This phenomenon is common in cold countries but in India, it is rare and unpredictable. Check out the stunning visuals below, as residents of the city share pictures on Twitter:

As per experts: It is “caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds.
